The Lions Head yearly vacation tradition first began when Ed Bender heard about the Lions Head on the Bruce Peninsula in Ontario.
Subsequently, he took his family on a vacation there for the first time in 1949, driving mostly dirt roads then.
That started the yearly family tradition of vacations to Lions Head, Ontario.
